ACK Deals started with a simple frustration — and a belief that the real spirit of this island deserves a home that's always open.

If you've ever really spent time on Nantucket — not just a weekend, but a whole season — you know about the Hospital Thrift Shop on India Street. But look at the hours. Monday, Wednesday, Friday: open until 3:30pm. Tuesday and Thursday: two short windows, with an evening slot until 8pm. Saturday: 10am to 12:30pm only. Sunday: closed. And when summer ends — it closes entirely. For the line cook finishing a double shift, the hotel housekeeper working six days a week, or the year-round local who just missed the window again — the door is locked. That quiet frustration is where ACK Deals began.

We came to Nantucket the way thousands of people do every year — to work a summer season, to fall in love with the island, and to wish there was more of it we could hold onto.
