Stubbys
Founded in 2000, Stubbys began serving fries out of a fish market on “The strip” – Nantucket’s historic Broad Street – with the simple intent of feeding residents and visitors coming on and off the ferries. Stubbys quickly became a staple of the island’s dining scene earning a die-hard following of locals and tourists of all ages, serving up our take on classic American and Jamaican food.

It’s hard to remember my life before photography. At age twelve I started a car washing business at our home in Singapore. I used that money to buy a SLR camera. Loading that first roll of film, a lifetime of adventures unfolded... Learning darkroom photography from a spy in Singapore. Having my hand freeze to a tripod in Alaska. Swimming with and photographing humpback whales off the island of Moorea. Seeing my work hung six-stories high in Times Square. Chasing the monkey who stole my lens cap in Indonesia. Attending drone pilot school in Saskatoon Canada. Traveling to eleven countries, in as many months, capturing a family’s round-the-world journey. And getting trapped in a shark cage with a shark off the coast of Nantucket Island. In my four decades of commercial photography I've photographed professional athletes, sitting Presidents, Grammy-winning musicians and Hollywood actors. I’ve filmed and directed short films, music videos and commercial campaigns for local businesses. As Chief Photographer at Nantucket Magazine, I’ve photographed countless cover subjects, from U.S. Senators to Nobel Prize-winning scientists. Today my focus returns to fine art photography – the pure art form I was originally drawn to. A time when I carried only a camera and a tripod. A time without the distractions of deadlines or high-pressure clients. Showcasing landscapes, seascapes, and adventure travel, my work reflects a lifetime of experiences that began all those years ago in Singapore. I instill that life-long passion for photography into every image I create so when it’s hung in a home, business or gallery, it will take on a life of its own. – Kit
Via Mare
Opened inside the charming Greydon House boutique hotel in Spring of 2019, Via Mare is the latest project from the folks behind island favorite’s Ventuno Restaurant & Pizzeria Gemelle. A whimsical take on the Venetian tradition of small plate dining & drinking in the spirited taverns known as bacari, Via Mare looks to Venezia’s long history as a central hub in the spice trades & adventurously follows these trade winds in curating their eclectic cuisine, wine & cocktail programs. In other words, it’s Italian-ish. Carefully curated by the celebrated interior design firm Roman & Williams, Via Mare offers you a seat in our Bohemian living-room-cum-bar or an intimate dining room overlooking Broad St, an open air porch & street side cafe-style seating.

We first opened our doors back in 2000 with the same mission as we have today, to provide Nantucket with some amazing tasting coffee, and some fresh baked goodies. With beans roasted here on island, and muffins baked in house, we assure you that you will be getting the boldest coffee & freshest muffins, and other baked goods.
